Idle is when you are sitting still, with messenger it means that they havent been at their computer for a certain amount of time, you can change the amount of time before it says idle.

computer idle means the same thing as regular idle. It just means that there is no activity taking place.
On messenger it means no one is talking or sending messages at the present time. it is just sitting there waiting for someone when they are ready to use it.

It means that the person on messenger hasn't don't anything on the messenger for like..five minutes or something. And no, it is not a website.

so as meaning , idle means not working or inactive , when you don't answer for 15 min ,this symbol appeared and it comes in front of your id in yahoo messenger list .

idle means that there is nothing happening, no activity. so if someone is idle on your buddy list, it means they are probably away from the computer.
