I heard if I change the housing of my phone (the whole thing) that I will lose my warranty on my phone... is this true?!

Yes, if you are changing out the actual housing of the phone you will almost definetly void your warranty. There is a seal on most phones that is broken when you take the phone apart and when that is broken your warranty is gone. Also, if you check your owner's manual that came with the phone it will usually exclude coverage for phones with altered housings or with evidence of tampering(i.e. broken seal).

nope, it doesn't affect the warranty.

warranty is good for only 1 year, that means if you signed up for 2 years, warranty doesn't cover the phone after the first year.
the warranty only covers techincal damage -- it doesn't cover physical damage (ex. if you drop the phone), water damage, lost and/or stolen. technical problems include: not being able to charge, doesn't power on, frozen screen which cannot be restored, etc. (any problems that you are not responsible for)

Before you do anything, you should call Verizon and speak with a customer service representative. Especially if you are going to put an after-market brand (not one you buy in a VZW store) housing on your cell. Good luck!

actually it will affect it. I know when i sent my phone in for repair they made me put the original housing back on the phone before they would send it in, becuase if i didn't i would have depletted my warranty.....
