First, you need to have more open communication. Does he want children for his sake or yours? If you get pregnant he might not really want to help much since this was for you.

If after discussing this carefully with him, you have three options, he can try to have his surgery reversed, but after 15 years I am not sure the odds would be real good, or you could go for artificial insemination. I guess the third choice could be adoption if the other alternatives don't sound good.

45 is not particularly old to be producing sperm, so your boyfriend's age is probably not a concern. Vasectomies can often be reversed. I think there's also a medical way to extract sperm straight from the testicle, so even if the vasectomy can't be reversed it's possible to father children. There are also possibilities such as using donor sperm and adopting. But I think you need to spend some more time talking to your boyfriend and before you definitely go ahead with something like this, to make sure it's really what you both want.

1: A vasectomy is reversable

2: If he has a child, he'd be 46 if you concieved right now . . .
puts him at about 64 years old when that child graduates high
school. He could be well on his way to death.

3: A 64 year old isn't the most lively of people -- teens need
support, time, and energy.

I'm all for adoption.

well he can have the vasectomy UN done...its a sample surgery...and as for the age, it is your age that really has an effect...sperm is good with old age, but if you are over say 35 or 40 i don't recommend getting pregnant
u can adopt a kid too...
but most ppl want to keep the blood line flowing

he isnt infertile he has made a choice not to have more kids you don't have an operation for no good reason, as you say YOU are wanting to have a family...if he wanted one he'd of had it reversed already.. you need to look at why you want a child - you got into the relationship knowing he'd had a vasectomy

It is better to talk with the husband openly about giving birth of child. Later, you can do alternative option, whether to reverse the vestecomy or sperm donation, or adoptation.

a vasectomy is reversible but first consider the reason your boyfriend had a vasectomy when he did. men can produce viable sperm at almost any age (Anthony Quinn had a child when he was 80!!)

you could:

Get the vestecomy reversed,
Have ivf (they could remove sperm directly from the testies or theres donor sperm,
Adopt

Good luck with whatever you decide x
