how do fairness creams work? need the exact mode of action...?

You may be trying to even out skin color or something to that effect. It actually, mildly bleaches you skin, so if you have sensitive skin, test on the inside soft skin of your arm, or somepalce fairly tender. If you are trying to even skin color on your face and it reacts badly, you will be way WORSE off just taking a chance!!! I was guessing that was your question.
