My opinion? myspace is dangerous and it should be taken down. However, my friend wants one. And she actually mailed her parents a letter with the "top ten reasons Nina needs a myspace" Then the two of us drew up "legal documents" about what her agreements were about what she posted and if they felt she shouldn't have it at anygiven point she wouldhave to get rid of it right away.... We started it a few days ago and we send more everyday and her parents are actually starting to consider it.

If you're young enough to need your mother's permission, you're probably too young to have a MySpace. Regardless of how mature and intelligent you may be, even we adults have a hard time telling who is legitimately interested in being friends and who is just a plain old creep. There are lots of other sites out there that would let you keep in touch with your friends and express yourself much as MySpace does, and they take lots more steps to make sure you're protected. If, however, this isn't good enough, you should compromise with your mother by having her help you set up your myspace profile and sharing your login and password with her so she can see who is contacting you and what sort of information you are putting out there. If she still won't have it, just wait a couple years girl! You'll get there before ya know it ;)

you're kinda dumb. you're mom has a good reason not to let you have a myspace.. first of all.. the fad's kinda.. over.. second of all you know how long it woudl take me to find out where you live, you'r age, phone number, etc. if you had a myspace.. alll of about 45 min. its proven. i watched cops do it in a security class.. even with the private settings on... so be glad you don't have a myspace... plenty of people don't.

Ignore what Mike said. If you want to act like a grown up then you do need to not do it behind your mother's back. That's childish and he sounds like he is too.
Anyways, just ask her. Find out why if she says no. Come up with a compromise such as making it for your friends only or she can know the password so she can check on it too or make it private so only certain people are allowed to see. It can be pretty safe if you use it the right way and it's monitored.

i wouldn't go behind her back. its easy to find out if someone has one. and i got in a loooot of trouble for that. tell her you'll set it to private so that only your friends can look at your myspace. show her how harmless it can be. promise to let her moniter it or something. idk. but i wouldnt go behind her back. i got in sooo much trouble. again, it is reeeeally easy to find out if someone has a myspace.

Say please. >_> Or change it so that it's private and that no-one above 18 can see it, or just make it a friends only profile. It's possible..tell her that. Add buddies at school so she wont need to worry about people finding your info.
