I have already contacted my doctors office. I am 6 1/2 weeks pregnant. this morning when i went to the bath room i wiped and there was pink blood it wasn't on my underware but it was enough to cover the toliet paper. That was it untl about an hour later i went to the bath room and there was two little pieces of tissue about as long as this line ----. Since then there has been just a little pink tint on the toliet paper when i wipe. My question is: Has this ever happened to anyone and their pregnancy turn out fine?

I had a uti a week ago and it was causing brown spotting. I took antiboditics for it and I think I may still have it. I am waitng for the doctor to call back, I was just wanting to hear of other experiences.

It is likely because you had a UTI that this could be coming from your urethra. Lots of women experience spotting or bleeding early in pregnancy and go on to deliver healthy babies. Yours may be caused by your UTI, and not be coming from the vagina or cervix at all. It is important to take all your antibiotics as prescribed, and not to stop unitl they are gone. A urinary tract infection can cause you to have a greater chance of miscarrying, or in women who are further along, can cause you to go into premature labor. Good luck, and definitely see your doc!

Unfortunately my experience with the little pieces of tissue resluted in a miscarriage, but mine was much different than yours. I woke up, felt strange in general and had pink blood on the toilet paper. I put on a pad and wen to work and an hour later had filled the pad with blood. It was several hours later that I had any tissue and it was a large amount and that was actually my baby.

In a later pregnancy I experienced small amounts of blood only when I wiped to find out that I had a UTI. It usually takes two rounds for me to shake the infection, so I had to be hospitalized to get the antibiotics through an IV, but I was also dehydrated.

I would say that it is probably the UTI. They can actually make your bladder bleed and that is where the blood is coming from. That is why it isn't in your underwear.

Definately see your doc to be sure, but in the mean time take it easy and put your feet up.

its perfectly normal to spot during the begining of your pregnancy. Yours very well could be caused by the uti, although i doubt it.

As long as youre not in pain, or bleeding a lot, you'll probably find that it will pass before you even get to your doctors appointment.

If for some reason you are concerned about it, you have EVERY RIGHT you call your ob/gyn at any time of day or night and use the answering service to get in touch with your doctor for your question.

Be sure you bring it up at your visit when you see him/her.

I read the other answers below me, while some bleeding can signal a miscarriage, spotting generally does not. Especially since you had some pink spotting, and then it lessened as the day went on. If you're bleeding a lot then go ahead and scoot over to your ER.

I had this with my first child...and he's just fine. Sometimes the cervix can get inflamed and cause the pink stuff you found on the tp. I've also heard that having a yeast infection can cause the same thing. Two friends of mine also had this happen to them...both pregancies turned out fine. There could be a possibility that something might be wrong, so check with your doctor to be sure. Also remember that anything you hold up against something as white as tp always looks darker that it would if it wasn't on a white background. Also, are you sure there was soft tissue or was is discharge?

Hope everything turns out for the best!

Yes my last pregnancy after having 3 miscarraiges and having taken me 9 years to get pregnant, I went to the bathroom at 6 weeks pregnant and saw blood. It was just spotting but it was blood. I went to the ER where they did a ultrasound and told me they did not see the baby and though my hcg levels were still high he was sure I was having a miscarraige. 2 days later I went to the dr and had another ultrasound, there was my baby with a beautiful heartbeat and I gave birth to a very healthy baby. I wouldn't get too excited, esp since you had a uti which may cause some bleeding but I would have it checked out immediately.

Good Luck and Hugs

Well I know in the begging when the egg attaches itself to the uterus. You may get some bleeding. I would just call your doc. That is really all you can do. I know people who have bleed a bit. Did you have sex the night before? If so your cervix could just be sensitive to the change and may bleed every time you have sex. Just relax and try not to think something bad is happening!

If you are only 5 1/2 weeks along and you had tissue when you wiped, I would go to your doctor. You may have miscarried, or it may be nothing...but it should be checked out, for your peace of mind if nothing else.

It has happened to me at 6 weeks, and no... it didn't turn out fine. It was a miscarriage. I had only found out I was pregnant 2 weeks before. 4 weeks later I started my regular cycle.

Sorry... It don't sound like a good sign to me. At least you contacted your doctor. But you need to be seen ASAP!

I hope everything is OK.

any kind of spotting can be so scary during a pregnancy.......
i had some with my daughter (7) and it turned out to be just just normal hormonal changes.
my dr said it was just my body still "getting used to being pregnant".
sometimes spotting is very normal but it was smart to call the dr....and hopefully you will be seen soon and your mind will be put at ease..
is this your first pregnancy?

did you recently have a pap smear or a pelvic exam? this may have caused it. i'm sure there isn't anything wrong. it's heavy, bright red bleeding you have to watch out for. my sisiter had a pap smear when she was pregnant and she had like a mini day long period afterwards. she thought she lost the baby, but he was fine, and now is 22 months old! good luck and i hope all is well. and congratulations!
