Completely bollywood and hollywood for that matter. I believe the myth comes from women who used to faint when wearing corsettes not being able to breath. Fainting has nothing to do with pregnancy.

Absolutely! When you are pregnant...the baby takes everything it needs from you including all your calcium..magnesium...etc. Electrolytes so to speak. Basically what you have in your system the baby will deplete you of what you need and take what it needs. This is why it is important for you to take prenatal vitamins. They carry extra of everything to replenish your body and feed the babies as well. It is common to get low iron....which will make you dizzy and faint feeling. Magnesium and potassium control muscle and you could feel some strange flutttering going on in your chest if that happened. Any of these symptoms mean u need to see your doctor and tell him you are lightheaded and faint. It means you are lacking something you need!

It could be a symptom, yes. But I would gather up all my other symptoms first before I went by that alone to determine that was a symptom of a pregnancy. There could be something else going on with your body as well. Go get yourself checked out by your doctor!

Fainting is NOT a symptom of pregnancy, however; dizziness and being lightheaded are symptoms of pregnancy. Fainting during pregnancy is a sign of poor nutrition. I'm not sure about fainting when your not pregnant. I hope that helps.

There are many symptoms that accompany pregnancy. I wouldn't determine myself to be pregnant just from fainting, but it's a good possibility.

I fainted several times during my first pregnancy. never did with my second pregnancy, but there were several times where I felt like I was going to.
I think it has something to do with the extra blood in your body. I don't know the exact numbers, but it's something like 80% more blood that you have coursing through your veins.

fainting is fairly common with pregannacy and is caused by the increase in blood pressure. your pumping blood for two and the bigger you get the more it can knock you off balance or disorinet you. its usually nothing to worry about but still talk to your doctor. if you ahve any doubts always ask your Doctor!!
