I trust Muslims. I trust Buddhists. I trust Hindus. I trust Pagans. I trust Wiccans. I trust Catholics. I trust Protestants. What I don't trust is Fundamentalists.

Fundamentalists twist the meaning of their faith for political gain. They use the passion that religious beliefs spark to recruit people to a cause that is - to put it simply - unholy.

Al-Qaeda,, KKK, Nazism, The IRA, the Salem Witch Hunt, Spanish Inquisition, the Crusades, and the Japanese Conquest in the early 20th Century are just a few examples of how Fundamentalists have manipulated religion for greedy purposes.

I've met many Muslims that have expressed their love for freedom and even for America. Their hatred is for American and Western World Imperialism. It is too similar to British, French and Spanish Imperialism. Furthermore, Western support for Arab Dictators and lack of criticism for Israeli GOVERNMENT war crimes are a couple other things that help terrorist organizations recruit new members.

I trust some of them. Most of them are like any participants in any religious system. Most of them believe it's all about peace and goodwill but have never read through their own literature, books or history. Most of them think that if they do enough good things they will enter heaven. So I trust most of them. Most of them are not radical killers. There is a small minority that are. So, if I were on an airplane with one, I might be leery - considering the facts of recent history. But, if I met one in a college class or somewhere, I'd try to be their friend and find out what makes then tick. You never know - you might be the person to uncover the next terrorist plot - or you could make a new friend.

I won't discount a person just because he/she is Muslim. Trusting anyone, regardless of background, takes time. However, I am sick and tired of hearing that Islam is a "peaceful" religion. Thank Allah Islam is such a "peaceful" religion. Can you imagine if it weren't??!

While not all Muslims are terrorists or support terrorism, the vast majority of terrorists and their supporters are Muslim. Islam is a very oppressive, violent religion, not only on its own people, but certainly on non-Muslims. The good Muslims ought to stand up and condemn Islamic extremists and Islamic terrorism, unequivocally, without any "and," "if," or "but."

Unfortunately for the modern world, the Muslims have been conditioned by their dictatorial regimes to have one thought, the same as the regime. There is no spectrum of opinions in the Muslim world, there is no freedom of expression, freedom of thought, freedom to live life freely (exception is in Turkey).

It's time for Muslims to take accountability for their religion and culture. Stop spinning, and address the fact that the Muslim culture is one of the most oppressive and violent cultures, against its own people, and certainly against other cultures.

For those who believe that the extremist element in Islam is small, the numbers are staggering. There are 1.2 billion Muslims in this world. Lets take a very liberal view that only a very small percentage of Muslims are exterme, while the rest of the Muslim world is very peaceful. So if only 10% of Muslims have extreme point of views, and may be a threat, and must be dealt with, meaning dealing with 120 million Muslims! How about 1%? Then you must deal with 12 million Muslims. How about 1/10 of a percent? Then you must deal with 1.2 million Muslims. The numbers are staggering! How do you propose dealing with even the "very low" figures of 1.2 million Muslim extremists?

It would be to the benefit of the World to rid of Hezbollah, Hamas, the Syrian and Iranian regime. It must be done to finally have a chance for peace in the region and the rest of the world.

Probably a lot, but a lot of people around the world hate americans. Most based on nothing. Most Muslims are the
same as everybody else. They just want to worship the way they
want, work and take care of their family, etc. It is only the relatively few that give everybody else a bad name. Extremist
fanatics of any persuasion is dangerous to us all.

Why Muslims?
Because the Al Queda is Muslim does that mean we are now generalizing that entire nation as a threat?

It's like saying during WWII, do you trust Europeans? Even though the Nazi movement didn't populate the entire European Country.

Muslims,Jews,Christians etc. are not the problem. It's Governments and people who believe that a violent action will solve a problem. All that will do is make them part of the problem.I trust trustworthy people.no more,no less.

I judge people individually.
But, it is normal, (although not proper), to categorize people based on cultural behavioral tendencies. Muslim's don't do other Muslims any favors when large numbers of them burn down cities & embassies over silly cartoons, blow up planes/buildings/buses/markets/night clubs.... just to kill innocent members of a society they disagree with, etc. etc..
So, if I met someone who was Muslim, I would not automatically distrust them unless they earned it.

Muslims have a first and foremost allegiance..to Allah...Islam; therefore, if it came down to obeying the Quran, (convert or kill all infidels) or being tolerate of other religions..(no..I wouldn't trust a Muslim...)

I find Islam to be a "cult" like religion, not tolerate and encouraging violence, in order to gain power over others.

I doubt the Muslims allegiance to the USA, even though many are "citizens" of this great nation, and enjoy all the benefits/freedoms it has to offer.

I heard it put best by a world war II pilot when he said " at least when we were fighting a war I knew who to shoot at, you could tell by the type of helmet they were wearing." Today, it's not so simple, it's easy to get angry when you see a middle eastern person in their traditional garb, in the United States...personally when I see that I wonder, are they extremist?...are they gonna poison the salad bar? Should I have this attitude...NO. But I do! Can't really help it. It scares the crap out of me when I think what these terrorists are capable of. So I will hold on to my prejudice fear a little longer...might keep me alive!
