When my wife and I were first married, we talked to a doctor about birth control. He told us that the oral contraceptive that was in use then (1978) simulated pregnancy. In other words it fooled the body into thinking it was pregnant.

That is what is happening to your body. It thinks it's pregnant.

Its normal and part of the synthetic hormones you're body is absorbing. When you're on the pill, or any synthetic estrogen pill, your body reacts as though its pregnant.

As long as your legs and head dont ache, or you're having severe moodiness then you are okay.

I went up a whole cup size when on the pill, and my breasts were very sore. But it will pass after a few months. You may even feel nausious, but that will pass too.

These are hormonal changes being brought on by the hormones in your contraceptive pill. If they are worrying you, you should discuss non-hormonal forms of birth control with your doctor.

You are sensitive to the hormones, go back to your doc. Most women have to try several pills before finding the one that works for them and not all women can take the pill.
