If a woman CHOOSES to be with a man who already has at least one wife that's all good. What i don't like are FORCED polygamy and certain sects that believe in raping little girls by calling them their wife.
But yeah, I think our society looks down on the CHOICE of polygamy as a whole.

Women in America have strong feelings against Polygamy because they realize when you marry someone it should be a one-on-one relationship.
I think not only would Polygamy be bad for a female, but it would totally miss up the way a man viewed, treated a woman.
It would be much like Pornography in which it would make it very hard for a man to have a true intimate relationship with a woman which would be his lose also.

As a woman who has tried to "unlearn" teachings against poly-love and failed, I think it's very possible that it's a social construct but, nevertheless, it's a tricky thing to change.
Some people do seem to escape childhood with fewer hangups than the majority have surrounding this issue. They end up hanging out on sites touting "polyamory" (polygamy, by definition, is the sexist idea that men may have many wives but women need only a single husband).

Regardless of how "wrong" monogamy may be, I seem drawn to it, so I guess your answer is; Nothing different than I'm doing right now.

In a million Kings 11:3, King Solomon had seven-hundred better halves and 3 hundred concubines. In 2 Chronicles 11:21, King Solomon's son Rehoboam had 18 better halves and 60 concubines. The American attitude about polygamy could be due to teaching, or it could be due to Christianity being the prevalent religion in our society. That being said, however, there is a lot of wisdom in the saying given by a well-known Jewish carpenter: "A slave cannot serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will hold to the one and despise the other."

I don't think it is wrong because I was taught to dislike it, I don't like it because I could never share my man with another woman. I think that many women feel the same way. It's not what we were taught, just what we are not willing to tolerate.

I don't have strong feelings against it. I really don't know why it's such a big deal.
Assuming I loved my husband, I'd be too jealous to share, though.

I understand exactly what polygamy is. I don't want to be wife # whatever and share my husband with a bunch of other females. Females are not easy to get along with - I should know I am one. It is not a hen house. My husband is mine alone and I'm his alone.... personal choice.

No, it's because it's entirely unfair. Another guy thing. A man can have a bunch of wives, but the wife can only have one husband. Where's the fairness in that?
