Oi!
Going to a university is definitely more important.
You'll probably be in debt either way, anyway! It's not cheap to go to school, but it's hard to live on a lower salary, too (not that you can't make a lot if you don't go to college, but statistically speaking...).
The thing is, with a college degree, you have more of an ability to get out of debt and to earn more money in the long-run. College loans are an investment in your future, and will help give you more options for careers, etc.
This is an honest answer, because I'm in law school right now and am VERY much in debt. Although it completely sucks (being so broke), I know that it'll be totally worth it in the end!

An economist friend of mine explained to me that there are two types of debt - good debt and bad debt. Bad debt includes credit card debts and the like - high interest rates, and they bring down your credit score. Good debt includes a home mortgage and student loans - lower interest rates, they don't negatively affect your credit rating.

An education will get you out of debt in the long run, and you'll have so many more options of what you want to do with your life. It's worth it.

a university is SO important but once you've been accepted, look at the ones you want to attend, and consider the costs. b/c paying back loans can still SUCK.
