whats the big deal.I m not a French or Algerian .I am an Asian. But I still love Zizou for his football skills and talent.
In football it doesnt matter where you are from or who are you,all that matters in how well u play.In 1998,when France won WC with ZIdanes help, the flags of both these countries where hung side by side.
P.S.Zidane is a French citizen of Algerian origin with Frencg and Algerian passports.

He's a French citizen born to Algerian immigrants. Algeria used to be a French territory until it gained its independence. So he's French. PLUS he didn't grow up in the best of neighborhoods so it's sort of the "rags to riches" story. Everyone loves the human interest aspect of a kid that didn't have much getting a soccer ball and playing for hours in an alley.

Because he PLAYS for France?
There are a lot of baseball players who aren't American but they play for American teams and we love them. Stop being such a nationalist.
