I found out I was pregant recently and am having ovarian pains. In 2000 I had surgery on my right ovary and ever since it has been extremely senstive. Do you think that this is normal and I am feeling the little changes or should I worry? I don't have any bleeding and it doesn't catch my breath... it's just there.

Anyone got any advice? I'd go to the Doctor but am waiting on insurance.

Thanks for your help!

Ovarian pains should be fine. In early pregnancy, the growing uterus causes lots of stretching that can feel uncomfortable like ovarian pains or like cramps. If you are not able to see a doctor, however, make sure you are taking an over the counter prenatal vitamin with at least 1mg (1000 micrograms) of folic acid every day. Otherwise, see your doctor when you can. Best of luck with your pregnancy!

The only pain that I have in my ovaries is when a cist burst. It is awful, but usually goes away after a couple of hours, and sometimes it knocks me on my feet.

You should not be feeling pain in your ovary unless you are ovualtin, and if you are pregnant then you are not ovulating.

If insurance is an issue I work for a company that offers health discounts at many hospitals and doctors offices. If you are interested in the specifics just contact me and I will get you the info.

You may also look for a place like planned parenthood that bases fees on income. There should be some like that for you to see.

Good luck.

Oh yeah, it could possibly just be stretching of the uterus. I had pains like that when I was pregnant.

I just found out that I was 5 weeks pregnant and am having the same pains. I researched to see if the pain was a pregnancy symptom and it is. The beginning of the pregnancy is worse I hear for those pains because the stomach is slowly stretching and there are so many changes going on in our body.

You likely are experiencing discomfort from a Corpus Luteal cyst. This develops on the ovary where the mature egg is released. It releases hormones for the pregnancy, and this function is later taken over by the placenta. This is common. It is very important, however, to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. One sided pain early in pregnancy can be a sign of this, so please reach your obstetrician or gynecologist as soon as you possibly can. An ectopic pregnancy can be fatal to you if your fallopian tube should rupture. This should be ruled out first.

The pain is prob normal. Your body changes drastically during your pregnancy. The baby may be sitting on your ovary. I know when i was preg. i had a cyst and they told me the pressure from the baby would hurt more if the baby was sitting on it. If the pain is too much for comfort go to the E.R to be on the safe side. Good Luck!!!

Its probably not your ovaries that are hurting, most women who are recently pregnant complain of pains where their ovaries are, but its actually the ligaments that hold the uterus in position stretching and pulling.

Its crampish and sharp, and sometimes dull... its unpleasant, but for the most part it'll go away.

If your ovaries are sensitive from your condition, then they might be sore clear through from the pressure of the expanding uterus.

Just stay active and healthy.

When I had pain from my ovaries it was bc I had cysts. I went to the hospital for them and they did an ultrasound. So that may be what it is but you need to go to a dr though and it needs to be ASAP.
