I notice people around me, but I dont really make eye contact, unless it necessary and that's when someone is speaking to me, other than that if they are not, then why should I make eye contact, its kinda personal its like eavesdropping maybe that's why it can be an uncomfortable when you get caught at the same time.

In some cultures it is considered rude or aggressive, but in US it's OK. If someone stares, that may mean different things depending if it's the person of same or different sex. There is nothing wrong in eye contact in my opinion.

I avoid eye contact, because I think it's rude. But that's just me.

i love to make eye contact ...just don't like people to star after the eye contact. Plus it makes most people smile and nod n wish you a good afternoon or something. its just friendly to most people and show character ...
