I was confronted in an angry, intimidating way by a supervisor. He was yelling, clenching his fists and literally shaking. He backed me into a corner and would not let me leave until a male employee entered the room. I reported the incident. Upper management had a meeting with the individual and promptly m ade him my direct supervisor. What can I do? I average $27.00 per hour and love my job very much. I do not want to quit but I am afraid of this individual. Can anyone help? Thanks.

You should definitely go above the upper management, that is so wrong

You should not have to quit. You are protected by the Federal government from being harassed. That can be a slippery slope, so I suggest you make sure your behavior and performance is top notch and above reproach. Document any and all encounters. Management has to take all complaints seriously, but I would make sure that I am not complaining about minor things. If you get the goods on the supervisor and they fail to take it seriously or take appropriate action, you have a legal case against them. If they or the supervisor retaliates, you have a legal case against them. If they let you go or you quit after telling them the reason, you have a legal case against them. In my opinion, the most important thing to remember is that you don't want to put them in the no-win position of embarrassing them. Try to make your points in private and don't be a rabble rowser with you co-workers.
