He was recently injured in an attack and he left CR for another station.
From wikipedia:
"On August 7th 2006, Richard was attacked by two men who followed him into the toilet at the Garrick Pub on Charing Cross Road, London. He suffered a broken nose, black eye and split lip as a result of the unprovoked attack. He will need surgery to rebuild his nose once the swelling has gone down. Police are currently investigating the incident."
Bacon was out celebrating his move back to Xfm from London's Capital radio station...so it looks like he had left Capital Radio for another station (see second link also)
