I have always thought polygamy could be a good thing. It could turn out to be bad as well I guess. Me not being a jealous person would not care, but me being a bisexual person would like to have a choice who my husband let join our family. It would be nice to have help around the house, and with the children. At if some of the other women were career minded that would be great too. Could you imagine how much we could get done. Could you imagine handing your husband off to someone else if you were not in the mood. You wouldn't have to worry about him begging all the time. I would love it myself.

If you are thinking in terms of the Fundamentalist Mormon society, you are right that divorce would go down. But you have to look at the downside to this society.
The local Bishop chooses the marriage partners, the young woman does not get to choose. Even if she has a particular person in mind, the Bishop may feel there is someone more worthy of that young lady.
And the young lady may be just a young teenager, barely starting her menstrual cycles.
These women have very little rights in this culture.
Their religion does not believe in divorce.
So based on Mr. Jeffries and his religious groups teaching, I don't think this is a logical choice.

Why would the divorce rate go down? It could actually go up...
It's just wrong.
And why doesn't it EVER work both ways? Why not two husbands? It's always multiple wives... If it's so normal, why shouldn't it?

Wouldn't the divorce rate go up, because each man can get divorced multiple times (but still be married to someone)?

I just can't imange more than 1 spouse. With all the gripping she does, I can't do anything right. One is enough but several would be nuts

No, it's a sick, sexist practice, and would NEVER be accepted in American society.
