Freaky gave you good advice, but overwinter the seeds in airtight containers (like a ziploc bag). And a correction: perennials come back from the root, not from seed. Some perennials may also shed seed, but the root is the mother plant. Anything that dies but scatters seed that sprouts in spring is an annual (or in some cases, a biennial, like hollyhocks and foxglove).

It would be best if you planted them next spring. Why not just put them in an envelope, seal it, and write what kind of seeds they are on the front?

you would be best to start them indoors in flats, after all danger of frost is gone.
usually late march, then transplant outdoors in the spring.
good luck.
also when you plant seed outside it is hard to tell at first what is plant and what are weeds.
makes it really hard to take care of the garden at first.

Too late this year. Perennials come back from seeds..if the plant does not flower and produce seeds this year, no more plant.
