wireless service is not specific to computer manufacturers. Comcast is cable modem and verizon is DSL, cable is faster. That's about it.

Although your question needs a lot more explanantion,
Like about where you live and such
Why are you getting only wireless service? Wireless isn't anywhere near as fast as wired, you could get wired a lot cheaper, then just get a wireless router, then you can plug in whenever you need to, like downloading or uplaoding.
That's what i do with my laptop, and any internet thart works for the other guys works for mac too.

just bored kind of right and wrong
verizon offers fiber optic and local copper line dsl
if you get fiber optic you be flying way faster than cable.
it's about $45 per month but it's worth it.
