This question is not even a complete sentence, but I can give you a couple of facts.
The hardwood timber industry has been established in the Philippine Islands for several hundred years. Such hardwoods as Teak have been commercially exported for almost the same amount of time.
The biggest issue with commercial logging industries is that the environmental havoc that is created is often either overlooked or completely misunderstood by the companies that engage in logging. Hardwoods are very slow growing, requiring fifty to one hundred years to mature to the age where they are commercially viable. Proper forest management becomes and important issue, because over production can cause the forest to decline and eventually disappear. This loss of habitat has dire environmental results, including the increase in greenhouse gasses and the loss of habitat for native species. Like all modern industries, the full impact of the process must be factored in before any more damage is done to the environment.

The question makes no sense. Economic development is a process of changes in the economy's mix of industries, the birth of new industries and the decline of existing industries. There can be no economic development in a single industry.
