I would suggest that you actually spend some time checking out different looks out there...there are so many nowadays.
Firstly, bronzer is great- but be subtle! You can use it on your eyelids and the hollow of your cheekbones to make you look thinner and sexier.
Do a little experimenting...REALLY look at the conours of your face and grab some new colours and types of makeup and spend some spare time experimenting.
I love the look with light shimmery pastels on the eyelids, cheeks and lips and then loads of mascara - instant wow!
Also, when I do my friend's makeup I always go for an earthy look- bronzer and browns and golds are great!
Have fun!
And if you are looking for a different way to apply it, try doing it in natural light on your verandah or wherever...then you can see how it will look to other people instead of in the dim light of your bathroom...

Yeah,
1. Paint all of your makeup the night before on the inside of a rubber Halloween mask.
2. Then in the morning when your ready, put the mask on and press it firmly all over.
3.When your done remove the mask and 'Voila'... the new you. If this does not work repeat steps 1 -3

you want to look subtle during the day, and if you want to experiment, do it at night. You can do the classic subtle makeup with black liner and mascara and then bright red lipstick or the opposite - go for a nude lipstick and really dramatic eyes. Get a fashion magazine (lucky or instyle) and they give makeup tips.

Try using different color eye shadows and blushes. You didn't really say what you do or use, so I can't help too much.
