To keep it from drying out I do believe, although I've never tried it...I have put pantyhose in the freezer, to keep them from dry rotting...

"If you keep the polish cold, the solvent evaporates slower which could make it last longer in the bottle if it's not tightly sealed. It won't have any effect if the bottle is tightly capped, though."

i dont know why they would put it in the freezer. its not gonna increase the longevity, neither will the refrigerator. if u need it to last longer just add a little polish remover.

never heard of it in freezer, it can go in the fridge.
