i was shock when princess Dianna died. she was young filled with dreams. i felt sorry for her kids because i knew that, they will never find who killed her and her boyfriend. it will be like the JFK death that always remains in the newspaper and TV documentaries which will bring more pains to her children who will find it hard to move on .she repernts more than any other royal in history due to her charity work and open heart.
for pope i did felt happy because he won't suffer any more but at the same time sad and confused about the future of the church. he had accomplished many things that will make it harder for the new pope to fit in the public eyes because they will always compare him to pope john Paul
john Paul 2 is not only a pope but also leader just like the presidents and prime minsters of the world. he had touched many lives beyond Christianity and catholic to other people of faiths like Islam .

I was heart broken with Princess Diana was killed. Especially when I heard that the driver may have been drunk. My grandfather was killed by a drunk driver so I have an especially difficult time with that subject. I truthfully don't remember how people acted at work because I was too focused on my pain. She was so young and so beautiful and had such an impact on the world in during her tragic life.
When the Pope passed it was really the best for him. He was in pain and not in his right mind so it was time for him to go Home. It was sad, but he lived a very long life.

Yes, I was affected by both. Does someone have to do something for another to feel sorrow for their passing? Hardness of the heart is not justified in this matter. It is a pity. As for the pope, he was a great man, had much wisdom and a great heart that loved many people; all in fact. His passing was a great loss to the Catholic's throughout the world. He will always be remembered with reverence and love............

When I ran my old FidoNet BBS, my computer was called Lady Di, after Diana. I was quite sad when she died, because she was almost like Royalty for Americans. She stood up for things that the TRUE America represents. She was warm, compassionate, and tried to give her kids a normal, healthy life.
As for the Pope, well it didn't mean as much to me as it meant for Catholics, but I, for one, am sorry to see that such a fine Christian man passed away. I hope that his predecessor turns out to be at least as progressive and open to the Spirit of Christ.

in the 80's especially for the masses she was one of the very few powerful people to have identified that AIDS was slowly but surely affecting the world and tried to educate people about AIDS and why it was not untouchable! She also championed to get the landmines banned which had killed many and left many more handicapped. Death of the Pope saddened me very much, although I knew that he was very old but I always felt he would get better................ one just keeps hoping!

It's odd... my mother felt very sad when she died... only because she said Princess Diana was such a beautiful woman at heart... as for the Pope, she's not Catholic.... For me, I didn't care either way for either of them.

Can't speak for others however for myself, as a mom, I was shocked and saddened especially for her sons, I knew how much she loved them. As for the pope, it was less of a shock, because of his age.
