Well, if it's clean and you don't have a skillet, I don't see why not. After all, using only the toaster for heating bread is a sign that you suffer from Functional Fixedness.

ROFL Ya know what, I've done it myself and it works just fine. Just use cooking spray on the bread instead of buttering the outsides.

(No fer real, I lived in an efficiency that had no kitchen.)
