I am probally ready. I think I am farther along. I have an irregular period. This is number 2 for me and I am in a lot of pressure pain from my hips down. I had my son at 37 weeks. So I think I will probally do the same. Just wondering if anyone heard anything new to try

i started walking UP stairs or hills. if that doesnt work try having sex. or lay on your bed and left your legs up just to where you can feel your tummy muscles harden a little. be careful and make sure its okay with your midwife or doctor that your at a safe period to have premature labor. i was at 2cm for a week and about 36wks so i did the above and had our son the next day.

I don't think there is anything you can do. So many people will tell you to walk, have sex and all sorts of crazy things. I was 4 cm dialated for 4 weeks, I walked and walked had sex every night and I even drank Castor oil (it is suppose to start contractions) all it did was make me poop a lot. None of it worked. Finally I gave up and at 37 1/2 weeks my daughter came on her own.

If you even think your 36 weeks, don't do anything to try to induce labor. 36 week babies can have all sorts of difficulties, including respiratory distress and may require anything from an oxy hood to a ventilator. Babies born at 36-37 weeks can have feeding difficulties as well. I can't tell you how many babies I've had to work with trying to teach them how to suck. And, if you're breast feeding, they have even bigger feeding problems.
I know, you're huge, your ankles are tree trunks, you're hot, you're through.
Relax (as best you can) and enjoy the flutters, the kicks, and yes, the jabs at your rib cage. This precious little one will be here soon.

evening primrose oil capsules. Take two orally and place two inside you before bed. Puncture the two vaginal ones with a pin first. They are similar to prostaglandins and will help soften the cervix. Sex is good same effect. 2cm is really good for 36 you will probably have the baby next week. Good luck and congratulations.

What you need to do is contact your OB doctor before self inducing yourself at 36 weeks. That is the best thing you can do for you and your baby.

Just wait. Enjoy having the last few weeks to eat what you want, sleep when you want and lie around as much as possible. I would love to have just one of those last quiet days right now!

you don't want a preemie baby, trust me. You will probably stay dilated for awhile before you have the baby. But that means you'll probably have a fairly quick labor, as you already have a head start.

Don't rush it. I know how tired you are of being pregnant, but the baby will let your body know what to do and when to do it when he or she is ready. (Pregnant 5 times and once with twins)
