my boyfriend recently asked if I would move out of state if the opportunity came up for him to get a job transfer. This would enable him to move up in the company faster and get to where he's always dreamed. I agreed and said I would, since he said he wouldn't leave without me and I think it would be fun to live in another state. I told my mom and my sister this am, and got all teary eyed. I've always been really close with my family and love my niece and nephew to death...i'm a little nervous of becoming home sick and having a miserable year away from my family. It's not for sure that we are moving out of state yet as he's getting the details from his boss today. Any suggestions for people who have moved out of state or somewhere where they don't know anyone? I want this to be a positive experience for the both of us since this move will ensure our future of not worrying about money...

we will get married in a few years, so this isn't just any guy - we both know we will spend our lives together. Just looking for encouraging words of wisdom - i know he wouldn't leave without me...i support him 100% and we already do live together so that wouldn't be any surprise.

I think you have already made up your mind. If this is a great guy then continue to support him and move. If you miss your family then go back to visit them during vacation time. I moved to a new place and I miss my family too but sometimes you have to cut off your nose in spite of your face. It means that you have to make sacrifices in order to get to a better place in life. It sounds like you and him are going to be making your own family so this will be a new journey for you. I would go because this way you will have no regrets, especially because it is so hard to find a good supporting guy and you have found him, so hold on.

It doesn't matter how far you live from family. The love travels. Go, be with your man. Support him now, and it will mean so much more in the future. You always have the Internet and picture phones to stay in touch. And since you love each other, when you need something, he won't hesitate to do it, cause you are willing to sacrifice so much for him.

I really think you should get married to this guy before you live with him, if you want my personal opinion. I have moved out of state before and it is hard and there is not much you can do to make your family to feel better. They will get over it in time. Join a nearby church if you move and you will make lots of friends your age. God bless!

i actually just moved with my fiance back to where he is from. im from the des moines and he is from a town of 150 people. .bbbbbiiiiggggggg difference..... but i find more and more that i wouldnt have had time to grow unless i got away from what i had always known....there is a big world out there and it is scary as hell, but if you love him and want to be with him. do it not only for him but for yourself to give you time to grow. good luck hunny.

I've made 12K per year and strong six-figures. You always worry about money.
