I have a DVD cabinet that is made to sit directly on the floor. This design doesnt sit well with me because the floor in my apartment is a bit uneven so its pretty obvious when this cabinet sits flush on the floor it teeters over a bit. I would like to add 4 legs to this cabinet but do not know how to "mount" it to the actual cabinet. What do I need? I tried to find a mounting plate of some sort and came up empty. Also a search for "table legs" also comes up with nothing. I would like the legs to be 6 or less inches tall. Not TOO tall just tall eenough so you cant see this cabinet rocking on my uneven floor! Any suggestions?

All I see that you really need is the leg showing at the link below. I don't know how big your cabinet is, but 4 should do the trick. If the cabinet is long, you may need 6 (2 in the center). Just put them in the corners, screw them in from inside after drilling. Sand down the longest one(s) or build up the shortest one(s) with felt pads. Stain to match. Good luck!!

Try creating a platform for the cabinet to rest of. You just need a board at size of your cabinet's base and then four stubs. Im sure you can get as ornate as you want, but this way its cheap and you can sand the legs in order to get the best level cabinet in respect to the uneven floor. (However, if you sand down the legs to fit one part of the floor, you may not be able to use the base in other areas of your home if the floor is not exactly unlevel as the prior location.)

I would buy the smallest 2x4 I could purchase.
Cut 8 even pieces. Then I would fasten them in an L with nails or screws. place one L in each corner so they support the cabnet. You can glue them with Gorrilla glue or screws. (Be careful of the screw size and length; You may also need to drill holes) To finish it off I'd by some decorative molding and trim.

a peice of foam that is semi-firm like the ones used as beds when backpacking should be soft enough to give a little to even up the cabinet but firm enough to hold it steady.

Have a few people hold it.

Or

Put small, thin, pieces of wood under it.

I think the people would be cooler.
