Swimming helps! Slow swimming, or just "wading". The water helps your body. Your body in water becomes very relaxed and the water massages your body allover and even "pushes" it which helps with alot of things.
I know swimming helps with cramps, aches, and defineately pregnancy!
Try swimming, walking, light aerobics (there is an aerobics class for pregnant women at my country club), and SEX!
Good luck!

Well of course everyone says sex. And its true but its not the sex that will do it it is your orgasm, the semen helps also. It releases natural hormones called prostaglandins, which help to soften the cervix. But not everyone at your point is still in the mood. Castor oil can help too. The contractions that your tummy will be having due to the extra runs to the bathroom can help other contractions along the way. Or you can take primrose oil. This is straight from the mouth of a midwife so I am going to try this in about two weeks ( I am now 36 weeks), Take three capsules by mouth then insert two to three more vaginally. They will dissolve and ripen the cervix. The bumpy roads and walking are good to do alonfg with the others. Also try nipple stimulation. I have done it in small doses already and every time I have done it I do get contractions but I don't continue them due to my due date being in 4 weeks. But I figure it can only help. But if you can take the time to stimulate each nipple for 15 minutes at intervals, (you will start feeling small contractions within a matter of minutes) but to start the ones you really want it will take a while but right now you probably don't care. I like the idea of having help with this letting it lead to other things and then start back, I mean whats wrong with mixing a little pleasure. After all this is supposed to start full labor and they also say to have your bags packed and ready to go. I hope that I have helped you out in some way.

Honey, I am due on the 25th. You are only 38 weeks. 40 weeks is when he/she is supposed to be born. The baby will come when it's good and ready to. Nothing can speed up that process. If your body is not ready to go into labor, it won't. Simple as that. Ask any doctor who has induced a pregnant woman!

Sex is what put me into labor with my 2nd. A very long walk is what put me into labor with my twins but it was a bit early. I would just have to tell you to let it happen. The more you try to do it the longer it will take. Let your body take its corse. If you try to do it yourslef you could hurt you or the baby and you really don't want that.

There are lots of ways to bring on labour......but baby will come when baby is ready!! First lots and lots of walking especially up and down stair.....well up more than down....go to the mall.....walk up the stairs, take the elevator down! Prepare yourself, your home...knowing that everything is truly ready for baby gives you a sense of peace of mind....and will relax you....making labour more likely. Red Raspberry leaf tea.........is awesome at bring labour on......your far enough along now that you can start drinking a few cups a day. There are natural tincture's that you can take.....I got mine from my midwife but a good natural health food shop should be able to help you with that. A drastic way........and a way I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND is to drink some mineral oil........it gives you very, very loose stools which supposedly helps in bringing labour on.....my boys were both two weeks late...I tried this with my third child and it was awful....I had stomach cramps....and felt really, really ill.........(dont do this one....!)..... Good luck with whatever suggestions you get and try.......dont rush though....enjoy your last few weeks...........baby will arrive when he/she is good and ready!! God Bless..........all the best....L.Butler
P.S. ALMOST FORGOT...SEX, SEX, LOTS OF SEX...GOOD SEX....YOU NEED TO ORGASM...WHICH BRINGS ON A SOLID CONTRACTION/BRAXTON HICKS....THE MORE THE BETTER.... YOU DONT NEED YOUR HUSBAND FOR THIS OF COURSE!!)

sex sex sex. There is a chemical in semen that helps you efface. You can also take evening primrose oil which you can by at any pharmacy in the herbal section. Walking helps only if you are not used to walking so much. You can also ask your ob or midwife to strip your membranes.

Be patient! Good things come to those who wait. It is the baby that determine when it is ready to come out. Walking will help the baby get ready I've heard, but don't try to force your child to be born early just because you are tired of being pregnant.

acupuncture works for induction 65% of the time, other than that, castor oil - eewwwwwww, sex and walking, evening primrose oil, red rasberry leaf tea, and cohosh. Ask your doc or midwife before doing anything though especially if you haven't hit your due date yet. Except for sex, lots of sex, very good.
