A Fedora or Fez is a small hat which is shaped like atube with a tassel on top, a Bowler hat has a rim and is a round hat i guess, Oliver Hardy wore a bowler hat in Laurel and Hardy and Tommy Cooper the comedian wore a fedora or fez.

A bowler hat is round on top. You see them a lot in old English movies or in the last museum scene of "The Thomas Crown Affair".
A fedora is just your typical Americam 50's hat that most men wore. It has a crease in the top. Watch an old Humphrey Bogart movie for an example.

I think the rim on a bowler turns upward all the way around, and the rim on a fedora is turned downwards in the front.

Now days the only distinction in Linux is who places their call on the distribution and if the have changed, altered or replaced the unique records to in effective condition their purpose. they're going to all use the comparable trouble-free and base record platforms and what one would have would nicely be put in in yet another distribution via changing the records to the type your distribution demands. 250 distributions later, i individually do no longer see sufficient distinction that would make one extra useful than yet another. the place transformations come into play is which laptop ecosystem they are working. significant flow is Gnome and KDE which seems waiting to place in and use one yet another records. once you get into the different laptop environments, they are in a position to place in the comparable records yet do no longer run the courses or have them ensue interior the menus. Ease of use and setting up the application for the distribution could make a small distinction in the way you do it. it rather is not any longer abode windows and individuals have expectancies of it doing precisely the comparable issues Window will do, it does not. abode windows, Linux and Unix based working platforms are no longer even on the comparable enjoying field.

A bowler is more oval shaped the rim is turned up all the way around and there is not indentation in the crown.
It's pretty obvious if you look at them both together.

Stan Laural of Laural and Hardy wears a Bolar in those shows. It looks like a bowl with a brim.
Indiana Jones wears a Fedora.
Hope this clears it up for you.
