Clinton certainly wouldn't have ignored the numerous warnings that preceeded the attacks. His administration also wouldn't have cut funding for Counter-Terrorism the day before the attacks.

He wouldn't have been more focused on vacationing than doing his job. If Clinton had been President on 9/11/01, he would've left that photo opportunity immediately after hearing about the second plane - surely following a brief explanation and apology for his quick departure - and wouldn't have hid in the midwest for hours as the millions he serves wondered where their leader was.

Clinton would've most likely ordered an investigation of some sort to look into any and all scenarios of terror attacks after receiving the "Bin Laden Determined to Attack within the U.S." briefing. The FAA would've been put on high alert and - especially when "two and two" were a put together regarding the numerous reports of al-qaeda members training to fly planes and the hint at the use of planes in a terror plot - everyone that had any links or suspected links to al-qaeda would've been closely - and legally - monitored.

A lot more could've been done to prevent the events of that tragic day, but we are talking about possibilities that would've required a competent administration that actually cared for the welfare of their country as opposed to the political opportunity that any threat to it poses.

us of a and the Pentagon is in charge as a results of fact us of a of america help Afghanistan secretly to combat the Russian invasion during the 1980's. Russia lost the conflict, so as that they left and so as a results of fact the U.S., Afghanistan did no longer get any help from any us of a after the conflict, and so as that they produce this form of persons like Osama Bin encumbered. The U.S. has been warned before countless situations pertaining to to the prospect of Al-qaeda below Osama Bin encumbered. yet with out adequate money for the CIA to accomplish their challenge, the prospect became into purely handed over or purely did no longer pay too lots interest till us of a of america became into attack on 9/11, 2001.

9/11 STILL would have happened. But considering he track record for doing anything about attacks by Al Qadea on this country I'm not sure he would have done anything but make his usual statement. "We will find those responsible and bring them to justice". That is what he said after the first attack on the WTC, the embassy bombings, and the attack on the USS Cole.

The only people brought to justice by Former President Clinton were a low level cleric and a few henchmen. During his time in office Clinton had a chance (several in fact) to capture Osama Bin Laden and never took it. Most of the preperations for 9/11 were made during his terms of office. Only the execution was carried out during Bush's time.

And I doubt Bill would have made a decision about what needed to be done the moment the first tower was hit either. Roosevelt didn't officially declare war on Japan until it had been approved by Congress.

What would you have had him do? Launch a nuclear strike on Russia? The first plane could have been just an accident. The second plane confirmed we were under attack. But by who?

I suppose you feel it would have been more appropriate for the President of the United States to stand up in a classroom of children screaming terrorist attack! If Clinton had been president, he would have pretended nothing happened (like he did throughout his entire presidency - for example, see Blackhawk Down) - and would have "talked" over tea and crumpets with the terrorist murderers........in short, we would have been attacked again. At least this administration has kept the terrorists OVER THERE and not HERE! What would YOU have done? You people are so nutty!! You think that everything in this world happens because of Bush! My GOD - he's only been in office for 6 years. GROW UP!

Didn't Kerry say he was so stunned he was unable to do anything for 30 or 45 minutes?

It was a nearly physical trauma to me to have seen it, and I will never forget it.

And what could he have done? They didn't know what was going on, they didn't have a plan of action, and, apparently, Cheney was in the situation room, on top of everything. Presidents can't just get up and leave - there's a whole protocol with the SS agents (and local agencies), who may not have been ready for the President to move.

There is a lot more to it than the simpleton accusations against him.

Especially about such an unimportant thing.

You people are so full of hatred - you need to get a grip.

Presumably WJC would have read (which Dumbya can hardly do) the 8-6-01 PDB and would have been acting to prevent what happened. There is some small possibility that Dumbya was a PERP in the WTC attack, thus his stupid actions even for a stupid guy.

Look at the events as they occurred that day.
1. Dubya had no idea that is was a Terrorist attack and not just an accident. Any president would have done the same thing. Finish the story, remain calm, leave the class and then be briefed by your advisers.
2. NO one expected an attack using jet airliners until the 2nd and 3rd planes crashed. Then it became obvious that there was a danger.

A president is supposed to remain calm and LEAD the country. I wouldn't trust an emotional president.

All he had to do was politely excuse him self from the room. Do you think kids can tell if a grown up says he needs to be excused that their is something wrong, especially if they are read my pet goat. Kid only know what you tell them and apparently so do Bush followers.

Call me crazy but I'm willing to give ol dubya the benefit of the doubt. He was probably scared shtless. What would you have done? He probably didn't want to freak out the kids, and didn't want them to think he was an ****** for just leaving so early, even though they would have figured it out on the news any way.

Unless of course it was his buddies doing the dirty deeds that he had laid down with his dirty money, then yeah his response as totally appropriate.

If Clinton was president on 9-11, we would have lobbed some cruise missiles into Afghanistan, there would still be Taliban control in Afghanistan, Iraq would still be an anti-US state, rich with "oil for food" money, anouncing its succesful nuclear program, there would have been more terrorist attacks on US soil, Libya would be testing nukes, Instead of a "War on Terror" there would be an "Understanding of our Enemies", followed by "Operation Appeasement".
