Not sure if archlib is actually a virus or a "spyware".
Start with AVG Free Edtition from http://free.grisoft.com/softw/70free/setup/avg71free_405a782.exe That should clean any viruses and protect the PC in the future.
Then check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.
All the programs are free.

Clamwin (opensource powerful free anti-virus) at www.clamwin.com/.
If you have a USB memory key, you might as well download the portable version of Clamwin, so that you can run antivirus directly from your USB key and dont have to install it in your friends PC.
