What is the best method to use to charge for one's services (i.e., administrative) by the job or by the hour?

I am trying determine how much detail I need to research before I submit my pricing to my client. Should I have a list of prices for some jobs and provide a quote for others?

Ask the client. They will tell you how much detail they need.

By the hour would be best.
