Address Printer

Assuming you're using Windows, go to:

- Start / Printers and Faxes
- Highlight the printer you're trying to identify
- Right click to bring up the context menu
- Select Properties / Ports

If it's a local printer, it will be on an LPT ("line printer") port, probably LPT1. But if it's a printer connected over your local network, it will have an IP address, which I assume is what you're looking for.

Best of luck to you, hope that helps.

I was also facing same issue with my printer. I tried a lot to find IP address of my hp printer however I was unable to find that. At last I just visited http://www.printer-techsupport.com/ and made a call on their toll free. I got great help from a certified technician to fix printer related issues only in a single call.

Go to control panel, printers and faxes or other, depends on what version of windows you have. Right click on your printer, select Properties. Click on ports, the one with the check mark will show your port and or address of your printer. A printer address will only show if you set it up as a network printer, otherwise it will show Lpt1, USB or something similar.

If it's a newer printer and its networked (which is the only reason it would have an IP address) hit menu on the printer and go to the configuration menu, it will have an IP address. Then use that number to map that printer on your computer. If you are using windows start - printers & faxes - add a printer - tcp\ip port enter the IP number.

Receiving a one or two hang up calls each month is probably nothing to worry about, but when those calls increase in frequency and if it happens in the middle of the night then you must do something to stop it, before it starts affecting your life. With the help of this services you can take away the one advantage these people have - their anonymity.

If you are connected via usb or parallel port you don't need an address. If you are using a wireless printer sharing device, it will have an ip address. If you know the netbios name you can run arp on it to find the ip address.

Check your owners manual to the printer, or you could do a query on the Internet...just type in the printers name.

IF YOU'VE LOST YOUR BOOKLET ON THE HOW TO'S...THEN TRY LOOKING UNDER THE PRINTER FOR INSIDE FOR DETAILS. OTHER THAN THAT TYPE THE MODEL IN AT YAHOO.COM, OR GO TO YOUR NEAREST BESTBUY OR OTHER ELECTRONIC STORE.
