I am moving and I need to ship my bed from IL to FL, I have everything else moved but this won't fit in my car. I checked a couple shipping services and they were all well over $450. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

Moving this distance is pretty expensive to ship furniture. I believe you can get a new bed for the same price it will cost you to ship, especially at this time of year. Furniture is on sale in my city now. Go online and search for stores in your new city to see what is available. You can probably order it online and have it waiting for you when you get there. I would just buy a new one, or sleep on the couch until you can afford a new one. The price to ship it would cost more than a new bed.
There are 2 Ikea stores in IL, I don't know if they are anywhere near you. They sell nice yet cheap furniture http://www.ikea.com/ms/en_US/

Rent a pickup truck and a car dolly. Haul the bed in the back of the truck and tow the car. Less than $200.00.
