You have to go to your states secretary of state, and petition to be put on the ballot for the general public to vote for you.

Contact the Mayor of Hillsdale, Michigan. He was elected mayor at the age of 18 last year. Or you could try getting a city council seat first, and going on from there.

Why? What do you want to do? What do you have to contribute? Can you really handle that kind of pressure? Are you mature enough? Where do you stand on issues that affect your city? You can't just become mayor from being a "political nobody" overnight. It doesn't work like that. It's not an easy job that just any Joe Schmoe can do.

Contact your office of elections in your community to get the guide lines. An 18 yr old just became a mayor somewhere too. Good luck.

If you have to ask, you're probably not mayoral material.
