It's not hot, and doesn't really even have a taste, as far as I know. More used as a garnish for its coloring, like on deviled eggs.

the type of pepper used, the veins and seeds produce the most of the capsiaism a volitale oil that the spice is derived from. If you can find it smoked paprika is nice, try to find a Hungarian or Polish specialty shop in your town, or there are sites on the internet, just type in the word and the modify your search

Paprika is made from dried pepper, I think. It['s spicy but not really hot.
