It is a waste of time if you spend too much time on it. It is not so bad if you are watching it to unwind from you daily work and personal stresses. Also, it is useful to keep up with the news from around the world and to inform yourself about what is happening around you. Informative channels like The History Channel, Discovery, TLC etc can be useful. All in all I would say no more than about 1-2 hours per day. Too much of it tends to not help in developing out analytical capabilities since TV is mostl a passive one way medium of information gathering.

No! It is my hobby. I own 4 TV's and 3 TiVo's and I LOVE TV!!!
I still have time to go to the gym everyday, work 9 hours a day and get a ton of sleep. It is not a waste of time. It is wonderful!

In alot of ways yes, but it beats complete boredom. Tv is fine, as long as you don't become a tv addict and watch it all the time. A little tv shouldn't hurt anyone and can provide entertainment, depending upon what you choose to watch of course.

Depends on the type of tv show's you watch.
For me when I have nothing else to do or am sick or not feeling well it helps pass time or help the time go by quicker.
