Like 3.5 RL, and 3.2 CL. I drive an RL and I always wondered what the last 2 letters stood for. My friend said RL=Royal Luxury, TL=True Luxury, CL=Contemporary Luxury. But IDK about my friends explanation.

They don't necessarily mean anything, but here are some ideas:

RL = Road Luxury / Replaces Legend. (Legend is an Acura model name in Japan) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acura_RL

TL = Touring Luxury (luxury touring car) / True Luxury

CL = Contemporary luxury / Coupe Luxury (luxury coupe)

The Letter designation really have arbitrary meaning. It is just away to distinguish Acura from Honda. Oversea all acura are Honda models. So Acura as a product line is an artificial solution to distinguish high end Honda's from low end ones.
