Politically obsessed people, be they 'lib or con' seem to be people who have their entire indentity wrapped up in the 'win/lose' 'it's us or them' 'vicarious power trip' mentality. They also seem to be people who are unable to think independently for themselves but accept someone else's version of reality as their own. This explains the cable 'news-shows' popularity and success. What do you think?

All you political puppets out there--do your worse.

I dont know about accepting someone elses version of the truth, thats not very accurate. I cant speak for everyone who does this but I dont have a life, I have very few people I associate with on a regular basis and Ive never had a girlfriend. On your average day I probably get about two hours of actual human contact and I'll be honest its been this way for so long I dont actually miss it.

Your argument is baseless. Being interested in what is happening around you politically takes no more time than any other endeavor. Some people are interested in computers, some in cars, and hosts of other hobbies and interests. It doesn't mean your entire life is consumed by it. It also does not make you a one dimensional person. The true political puppets are the people who watch the news 30 minutes a day, then base their votes on a 30 second sound byte, and consider themselves well informed. It's obvious you don't like politics, and that's perfectly OK, but you should not make broad based judgments against other people, because I am sure there are some things you do which they could use to make the same misguided claims about your character.

Actually, dear Delphi, my friend who is a real bear on the subject of politics does have a life...; that is, a life involving everyone else including soap opera characters. She is in fact a drama queen. My advice to her is "those convinced against their will are of the same opinion still." Does she listen? Heck, no. When she starts to argue, I walk out. Life is too short, and I prefer to protect my blood pressure. She takes the actors and others ( Dr Phil, Oprah) in the media seriously, and she belongs to a religion that like most promises eternal happiness for toeing their party line. No use telling her that I believe its all a myth, controlled by power hungry men. And while she does not agree with everything her church teaches, it spells "security" for her. Has a good mind overall but doesn't always utilize it. Story of our lives, huh?

IT is interesting that both sides have failed to provide solutions that work to any problem we have encountered in my life-time let alone down through history .
IT seems the people in politics tell you that they will solve a problem and then do nothing about it .
THIS leads me to wonder what they are relly doing .
THEN it becomes clearer when we see who donates money and what special intrest group has gotten what it wants .
THESE are people of priviledge batteling over who and in what state or where in the world are they going to exploit workers and to what degree and how much polution they can create and dump before anyone gets mad .
ITS all about money and power and little about what is good for the people .
IF you are working and you do not have money working for you I FEEL BAD FOR YOU .
POLITICIANS work to help people with money get more and keep it .
The slight difference is democrats feel bad about it and want to give a little back and republicans always say get your own .

Perhaps. Although I am more willing to accept a politically obsessed person than someone who watches E! and reads the National Enquirer.

Politically obsessed people are fully aware of politicians ability to ruin or improve our lives and we work hard to see that power is in the hands of the right people.

VOTE THIS NOVEMBER.

Being up to date is no problem. Being really crazy and preaching yet not doing anything about it other than being really crazy and preaching is bad. I just hope the next termed president can get things under control.

Disagree, The only reason I am interested in our world is because I live in it. I enjoy living in it and I want it to be a good place to live in.

Yeah, but then The Rapist Little Billy Clinton wasn't obsessed with politics, was he?

The Fat Boy was (and is (it's been my observation that this condition doesn't change)) obsessed with nooky.
