Here's an example of taking the whole chain letter thing to its illogical conclusion.
Hello, and thank you for reading this letter.
You see, there is a starving little boy in Baklaliviatatlaglooshen who has no arms, no legs, no parents, and no goats. This little boy's life could be saved, because for every time you pass this on, a dollar will be donated to the Little Starving, Legless, Armless Goatless Boy from Baklaliviatatlaglooshen Fund.
Oh, and remember, we have absolutley no way of counting the emails sent and this is all a complete load of b******t. So go on, reach out. Send this to 5 people in the next 47 seconds. Oh, and a reminder - if you accidentally send this to 4 or 6 people, you will die instantly. Thanks again!!
Obviously chain letters do not do anything.

Your experiences are totally hilarious ---
Do you believe in magic? How about voodoo? Power of suggestion?
Any of the above 3 (and many others) can allow you to fear repercussions, when not following thru on any superstition. If you believe that you may suffer negative or positive results when acting on chain letter 'orders', your chances of effecting the results 'predicted' are definitely increased ...
I've never passed a chain letter on to another --- and never suffered negative results - as a result. It's wholly up to you. . .

Mate, I have read and answered just two of your questions, and I already think you are the funniest bastard on here by far.
Now that you hath tempted fate, and angered god, you might end up being hounded by some bible nasties after all.
You best go back to walmart and ask to speak to a manager. Maybe you could actively solicit some chain letters to make up lost ground.

I general I'd say chain letters annoy me because I tend to believe them.
The only one I know of that something actually happened when the person did it is one that was a prayer. It said say this prayer and something good will happen between 10:30 and 11 PM. (the prayer was like "God I really need you in my life...etc.)
well my friend (who has feelings for me and I ended up having feelings for him) posted that and around 10:40 or so he called my other friend who I just happened to be with at the time. and so he got to talk to me and it made him happy (he told me that it made him happy).
Coincidence? I don't know. Maybe God knew he really needed something to make him happy.

Your either lying about your friends or you have a great imagination because I've had that before and never forward them and nothing ever happens. Maybe it's just that i don't believe in that and that I'm not superstitious.

While I don't buy into these testimonials, I still hold this belief: If you truly believe something negative will happen, your negative thoughts attract those negative energies and cause them to manifest, thereby making negative things happen in your life. However if you believe positively that something good will happen, you also attract those good energies to you and good things manifest. By not believing in something, you have shut your mind off to the possibility of anything happening period and therefore it cannot manifest.
Plain English:
Bad things will happen if you think they will.
Good things will happen if you think they will.
Nothing will happen if you think nothing will.

I know for a fact that anyone who doesn't forward chain letters will die someday, also all their friends and family members will die someday too.
I think I forwarded a chain letter once, that was about 2 years ago and I'm still alive.

I believe is some superstitions but chains letters are a scam. Nothing bad would ever happen to you if you didn’t do what the letter said. Chain letters are SPAM.

That ain't true, if they are I would have been dead along time ago I never forward that stuff. However, if you believe in that stuff and look for bad things to happen then they will. But now, that stuff you said about your friends are urban legends.

I read that Darwin award too, you have a good sense of humor, but chain letters only hold sway over gullable teenagers and people who don't get out much.
