Anybody living in Colchester,Essex can say where not to buy a house and where the best places to live are?

Planning to move to Colchester Essex uk. Trying to find out the pro's and con's. any ideas

less attractive areas are goring road, greenstead, some areas of highwoods, newtown, some bits of shrub end (not that they are terrible but just less desirable) would try and find a place in somewhere like bergolt, great horkesley, mile end, lexden etc rural but close too town popular with familys. all depends on ya budget! if you need any more info would be happy too help
