I doubt there is a pain differance. I've only had uh ... some things pierced. It hurt a lot, but only briefly. I'd much rather endure a body piercing then say a medium intensity headache that lasts 2 hours.

It would seem to me that you'd be more likely to tear the bottom one accidentally, since friction on your belly button piercing is more likely to be pulling down, and a lower piercing would, I'd think, catch more easily from above.

Shouldn't be much blood at all.

Belly button is one of the slowest healing piercings to heal. Blood flow to the skin of your belly button is very low, so its not a fast healer.

Get it if you want it. My wife had hers for a while, she removed it when she was pregnant, and hasn't gone back to it. She doesn't regret it, and you can't really tell where it was done.

Just make sure you go to a proper piercing studio, not some shoddy place in a mall. They should be putting in a ring initially, out of pure gold or surgical stainless, and they should be doing the piercing by hand with a new, hollow point needle that they take out of its sealed package right in front of you.

I wouldn't know the level of pain as far as top or bottom goes, but I've got mine pierced and it didn't hurt at all. The most pain I felt was the tongs he used to pinch my skin together and a sharp pain that lasted for a couple of seconds. The only regret I have now about having done it is I'm going to have children soon and the hole is going to look pretty crazy I imagine when I get pregnant. Something to think about... But no it didn't bleed much at all and it took about a month to heal I believe? Can't remember I got it done 6 yrs. ago. But I like mine
