I would like in the following order:
A gift that I want.
Cash
Gift card (like a Visa debit card)
Gift card (store card)

A gift is more personal. It shows that the person thought of you, put some thought into what to purchase, bought something they thought you would like, and in most cases, actually present it to you.
A gift card is ok or even cash from someone I don't know well, but if you know me and love me, you should know what to get as far as a gift is concerned, right?
Like, for instance, say.... a teddy bear? ;-)

I'm with you on the cash, I would rather receive that than the others. However, a gift card from a store sounds good and a regular gift in general.

I'd rather receive a gift. That tells me the person actually thought about me while getting me something. It also makes it nice later, when you look at a gift and remember the person and the occasion it represents.
I prefer cash or gift cards from employers, people I don't know well, or people who are too lazy to actually shop for a gift.
If I am in serious need of money, and people know it, I will humbly accept gifts of money, and be extremely grateful.

I don't want cash. It shows no thought of effort at all. Gift card to a place I really like or a gift is best for me.

a gift, that the person put some thought into, is very nice. I don't like people to feel obligated to give a gift. a card with a note is nice. flowers are awesome.
wondering if you are wondering about someone imparticular... what you are going to get for them. hoping you arn't giving a girl a gift card or cash......

there are pros with each choice.
I love Gifts because of the surprise fator and I love unwrapping the boxes to see what it is.
Cash-there is no need to explain cash because who wouldnt love cash?!
I love gift cards to stores because it allows me to find stuff I like/want, and not worry about money.
If I were to choose one it would be Cash because at least I can buy myself things I like, or deposit the cash in the bank.

gift card....like to JCPenney or Wal-mart or target.
it allows me to get something that I wouldn't ever spend cash on. If I received cash I would either save it or spend it at McDonalds before I made it to the bank
a gift.....I would just return it
