I don't prefer button-down collars.

I'm not real particular on this one. I love to wear men's shirts, and on my own, I always unbutton the collar. Dressed up cowboys look nicer buttoned, as do guys wearing ties. I guess, it depends on what the collar is worn with.

I don't prefer button down collars either. Let em hang loose, I say. Don't restrict the collar. However, on those rare occasions that you have a shirt with a wayward collar, a couple of buttons to keep it where it is supposed to be might be a good thing. You just wear whatever you want to, darlin. It'll be good either way.

I like them for everyday wear, but not for more formal occasions. I like being able to wear a collar grip behind the knot of my tie, and look forward one day to having a tab collar like Donald Rumsfeld always wears (though not because he wears them).
