Well...since she is a single mother its going to be harder no matter what..i think that maybe your mom should try to sit your brother down and tell him thats its hard for her, and that it would really make her happy if he started behaving. its all up to the way that your mom disciplins your brother...its not always good to be the nice guy you know?? you have to play the mom and the dad in that role... so maybe when he gives her a hard time, he should go sit in a "time out chair". whatever makes him behave. or reward him when he does a good deed or when he does behave. well, i hope i helped!! have fun! lol. :)

I wonder how old he is. Being raised by a single mom is hard on boys. I think your mom should call her insurance company to see if they will pay for family counseling. It really helps. Don't wait til he gets on drugs or gets into trouble! I waited too long for my son and he went through a horrible time with drugs, etc. His dad and I divorced when he was just three years old.

You have to help her out. You will probably have more influence over him than your mom except for the discipline element. I don't know what ages you are, but if you treat your brother right, you should be able to keep him in line quite well. I basically had to raise my brother on my own after i turned 11 because both of my parens had to work long days. There were tough times, but in retrospect, it was probably one of the most wonderful parts of my young life.
Best of luck.

I had a similar problem with my little brother, and I just talked to him about it. I told him that I knew he was getting upset easily, but that he should try not to take it out on our mom so much because she was under a lot of stress. He's a lot better about it now.

Try to help her find a parenting resource center
that
provides classes and usually a free library to check out parenting books.
They have counselors to talk to to and provide positive parenting support as well.
Just tell her in a way that wont make her think she is a bad parent. No parent knows exactly how to deal with their kids and everyone needs help. Ive taken some parenting classes and gone to one and it helped alot. Just to feel like you have someone in your corner makes you feel better.
Do a web search for parenting classes in your area.

Sounds like he needs some ground rules and disipline. I have a feeling that since she is a single mom, she isn't around that much.

it all goes with being a single parent.!!i am one.!!! just tell your mum to say ,,no,, to him at tmes, but she has to mean it and not let him get away with things, your mum has to be be strong,!!and show your brother that she is the ,,boss,, in your house, if she doesnt your brother will walk all over her,
