they key to self tanners is to use a product that works gradually. my favorite self tanner is Jergens Natural Glow becuase the color looks natural, not orange. even though it takes a couple of days to see the color, this product is mousterizing and also doubles as a lotion.

I'm not sure about Ocean Potion Daily Glow - but if you overdo it then yes it can turn orange. However, lately most brands have perfected their self-tanning lotions and it looks more of a bronze effect than oranges! If you do not like that particular brand (and quite a few of them are different) try the Jergens Natural Glow - I've included the link so you can take a look. Good luck! By the way, if you exfoliate first to get rid of the excess dead skin cells that can make your self tanning un-even.

Vaseline Intensive Care makes a great daily moisturizer with a hint of self-tanner in it. I love it because it looks very natural and has never once turned my skin orange. I apply it at night before I go to bed because self-tanners stink and I don't like smelling that smell all day long. It last a couple days...it would last longer but I shower every day and use a body-scrub, and also shaving will peel off that top layer of skin that's absorbed the self-tanner.
I guess if you want to test the stuff you bought at Wal-Mart, test it on the top of your foot. That way if it turns orange, you can cover it up with your shoes till it washes away...and go buy the Vaseline Intensive Care stuff that I mentioned!

I don't know anything about the Ocean Potion, most tanners even the most expensive ones from Clarins and Lancome' will
turn you a bit orange. They work well if you have a bit of a tan and will enhance it, I've tried Neutragena, L'Oreal. Biotherm, basically everything that's ever hit the market and I have never been satisfied. If you use the Glow stuff from Oil of Olay orJergens etc, again it looks and works better if you have a bit of an existing tan.
I hope this helps.

A lot of self tanners turn your skin orange even your hands if you do not wash your hands right away. They also smell really really bad. If you are going to buy one you might want to try a better one - one you may have to spend more money on. There is a good one by Estee Lauder - I don't recall the name of it, but it left my skin bronzed not orange and did not smell at all. A lot of the tanners last maybe a week or so - once you start showering it'll start rubbing off

this site has a section which explains how the self-tanners work. if you are going to do it yourself- be sure to exfoliate 1st w/ a scrub in the shower. be sure to moisturize your skin before applying the tanner and add extra lotion to your knees/elbows/ankles and other dry skin areas.
i would also recommend buying a nicer tanner from a counter at your local department store.
good luck!

Don't use it if you plan on going swimming or to a water park that uses chorine. The bleach will take your fake tan off, and by the end of the day you will have terrible streaks and light spots. I know from personal experience. Wow! Where did my tan go?

SELF TANNERS ARE TO BE THE SAFE WAY TO TAN. JUST REMEMBER TO BLEND, BLEND AND GET THE LOTION ALL BLENDED IN. THEN REMEMBER TO WASH YOUR HANDS OR THEY WILL BE DARKER. TRY IT AND SEE WHAT YOU THINK. I'VE USED THEM BEFORE.
