Eternal truth will never die. Otherwise all truth is relative. What is true now may not be valid after some time in this fast changing world. For a politician nothing is impossible. Politics is in fact art of the possible. To make anything possible is his job.If he wills it he can sell a refrigerator to an Eskimo and take his vote too. So conclusion is he can!

Truth about what? Truth is always there no matter what , it just gets distorted and colored depending upon who is interpreting it. Politicians have a knack for distorting the truth. They say what you want to hear , but do what they want ( or usually what some rich guy who has the dough to pay them wants them to do). Their speeches are called " paying lip service " . However money is power , politicians have families too. They care more about their families and themselves , than they do about Joe Schmoe who they don't even know.

Read 1984. If someone controls the present, they also control the past, and the past is the truth. If the party tells you that 2+2=5, then it does.
