As a matter of fact, the president does live under different rules than other more mortal beings, so to speak. The President because he is the soul executor of federal government has certain protection from the attacks that come in many forms. The President is than exempt as least temporarily as long as her or she is in Office. Then all hell can break lose.
Please do not misunderstand me. I lived an died with the impeachment issue that forced Nixon out of Office. But as they say, "Live And Learn". We tried impeachment once and it is a hell of a procedure to have to go through. Sometimes it is better to just weather the storm.
In case of Bush, the Republicans control Congress, the Supreme Court and the Presidency so there is not much Democrats can do until they get their hands back into a seat of power in the government.
So, we are stuck with Bush for now. There is hope that the Democrats can win back the Congress, and even just one chamber of the Congress would allow Democrats to investigate what is actually happening in the White House.

Yes, though his acts a president are separate from those acts as a private citizen. What you suggest about 'killing babies' which I presume you mean in Iraq, are not acts as a private citizen. Prosecution of his acts as a private citizen, let's say if he were caught speeding, would bemost likely be delayed until he was out of office.

He is above the law obviously
was not elected, it was bought and paid for
was killing innocents by letting terrorists blow up trade center and had prior knowledge
involved us in a war to avenge his father and steal oil
but he is not the only one to do this
pesonally i don't care, it just sucks that
the rest of us will be cleaning up this mess for a long time to come.

Of course he is. His name ISN'T Kennedy.
Kill babies... are you talking about the war? That is a legitimate action that was sanctioned by both the US Congress and the UN.
You people are so disappointing. You actually used to be intelligent and knowledgeable about the propaganda you were pushing. Is this the limit of the intellectual capacity of the neo-moonbat lunatic KOS fringe?

Legally, no, he is not subject to the same laws, as he (or any president) cannot be prosecuted for most (maybe all) crimes committed while in office--instead he would be impeached.
Does that mean he has the freedom to commit the atrocities he has? No, it does not. But with control over the House and Senate, he's safe from impeachment.

Yes he is, and it takes a few years for law to catch up with the powerful. But believe me, him and Nixon thought they were above they law, and they are NOT! Take away my liberties and I will rise and bite you!
Bush, you have broken the law, and you will be held accountable!

In theory, yes. In practice, no. The Republicans will retain control of Congress this November so there will be no impeachment or trial, he will never have to answer for anything.

Are you saying we should try any US soldier that has been in any combat situation for murder or attempted murder??? Hmmmm...
