I found out I was pregnant 8 days after implantation, if she feels like she is 3 weeks pregnant she can go ahead and take a pregnancy test right now and find out. I assume she has missed her period since she thinks she is 3 weeks pregnant so, you can tell with a test if you are pregnant or not within 2 days before you even miss your period so she should be able to tell now. If she is 3 weeks late she is actually 5 weeks pregnant so she can definitely have a positive HPT is she is indeed pregnant.

I have no experience but a friend of mine just found out the other day she was pregnant. I thought she might have been last month too but when she took the test it said negative, but then 3 weeks later she took another test and she barely got the pee on the stick and it said positive :) I knew she was....
I would tell your friend first and foremost not to stress about it, it will make her period whacky and it might not show on time. If in a couple weeks she doesn't have a period then I would test, if it's negative and still no period I would test again a week or so later.
Tell your friend good luck, I hope she gets the answer she's looking for.

technically, you ovulate two weeks after your period on a 28 day cycle. (or 14 days before your expected period due date). so for her to be 3 weeks pregnant she would have to be one week late on her period. There is a pregnancy test that is supposed to be able to tell you are pregnant 3-5 BEFORE your missed period. which would make you 7-10 days pregnant when you would find out. unless she is counting from the time of her last period, which would make her only 1 week pregnant. in which case she would wait another week or get a blood test in a doctor's office.

Some test may show you 7-8 days before your period is to arrive. Just read the box. I found out at 3 weeks. I wasn't trying to get pregnant but I had a physical and it just so happened I was. Go figure. Life is tricky!

It is too early for the over the counter test. But not for the blood test at the doctors office. My wife found out she was pregnant 11 days after conception. Our daughter is now 23 and an interior decorator.

I would wait another week or two to be safe and more accurate. I have taken home pregnancy test with my last two to find out and confirmed it with the doctor afterwards. I was about 4 almost 5 weeks with one and 6 weeks with another.
