The top software of this kind happen to be free! But on Internet there's VERY little that are REALLY free. In most cases Spyware and other data-stealing software is 'buried' within these 'free' programs. That's what keeps these programs 'free'.
The following are very popular, free but dirty, download-accelerators:

dont use them some carry spyware/ad-aware/trojans/worms
and some download accelerator mess up your computer
just download with out the use of a download accelerator or you may get more then what you think with a download accelerator
